The boots are bright pink and shiny- what more could you want, right?
Except the clear vinyl that covers the outside of the boots making them waterproof also prevents air from getting in or out of the boots. It’s like wrapping your feet in plastic bags- which ends up making your feet- well, “sweat”, for lack of a pleasanter word, when they get warm. Your feet can’t “breathe” as they would wearing leather.
The sweat created inside the boot moves up through the fur covering outside the boot but is trapped there under the vinyl.
There’s no way for the wet fur to dry, which I suspect will eventually cause mold to grow. Icky stuff grows on trapped moisture, which I don’t think will be an attractive look.
I made a number of pinholes through the vinyl on the outside to try to allow air in and the sweat to dry. The pinholes aren’t visible but I’m not sure how effective they are.
The boots run a bit smaller than the classic UGG and don’t stretch, so at this point I can’t get my foot through the boot wearing a sock that might absorb some of the moisture.
I’ll look for a thinner sock.
So, yeah. So fun, so cute. Great color.
But there seems to be a downside.
